Chronic Dev-Team member Joshua Hill has just confirmed that the new Greenpois0n jailbreak, which will allow you to jailbreak Apple’s latest iOS 4.1 software, is expected to be released this Sunday. To make the event more special, Dev-Team has decided to launch the tool at 10 past 10 AM on October 10th 2010. They will be releasing multiple tools, some of which will help you update to 4.1 without losing the possibility of unlocking your baseband for other carriers.
DevTeam recently released new version of redsn0w to jailbreak iOS 4.1. New RedSn0w 0.9.6 b1 supports iOS 4.0 and iOS 4.1 running on iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G.

That’s because to use redsn0w at 4.1, you need to already have updated to official 4.1 from Apple. If you do that, you lose the ultrasn0w unlock (possibly forever).

Apple has released iOS 4.1 for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, , iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G and iPod touch 4G.
iOS 4.1 enables the Game Center social gaming network, support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos, and HD video uploading to YouTube. The update also fixes several bugs, including proximity sensor issues, performance issues and Bluetooth problems.

Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, confirmed that the new software update iOS 4.x will appear in the near future to correct performance problems on the iPhone 3G, which works on iOS 4.x. He confirmed it while answering to the email he got from a user who was disappointed with the iPhone 3G performance running on iOS 4, describing it as “dog slow”.
Although he did not mention a specific version or date of its release we can guess that he was specking about iOS 4.1, which is going to be released next month, when iTV (Apple TV) and the next generation iPod touch will spotlight.

The Flash port project is called Frash. Recently it became available for iPad, now iPhone users can install it on their devices. Of course you need to jailbreak, since Apple doesn’t support Flash in iDevices.

Obviously avoid today’s 4.0.1 update until JB tools are updated. Luckily, no baseband change so ultrasn0w lives on 🙂
each FW version has unique blobs. But using http://is.gd/dskh9 you can get 4.0 blobs on PC while you stay at 3.1.2
