The team behind the Pangu untethered jailbreak of iOS 7.1-7.1.2 has released a Pangu8 untethered jailbreak for iOS 8 – 8.1.
Currently a jailbreak utility is only available for Windows and at this time Cydia and Mobile Substrate are not working.

Pod2g, the hacker who has been an integral part of the last few jailbreaks, has announced that he is ‘about to switch to an Android device’ after spending some time testing iOS 7.

IMHO, this version of iOS is the worst move Apple did in a long time.
iOS 7 design is awful, it’s slow, battery life time is the worst ever, it’s full of UI bugs and crashes. OK it’s beta 1, but still…

This week Gareth Wright that Facebook’s app for iOS has a security vulnerability through which malicious users can access login credentials saved in a .plist file of the app. With a copy of that .plist file malicious users could automatically log into the affected user’s Facebook account on another device. Reportedly, the vulnerability also exists on Android devices.

DevTeam released a new version of RedSn0w 0.9.6 rc10. Short after that they released a fix for that – RedSn0w 0.9.6 rc11.
DevTeam have added boot animation logo, removed some unnecessary settings, and fixed some bugs.
Everything else is the same – untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 for all devices and both Windows and Mac OS X users.

This week Google has released a new version of its client app for Android Market, which will work on any smartphone running Android OS 1.6 or higher.
The company aims to facilitate the process of discovering new software and its purchase. That’s why new Android Market will have a Cover Flow-like style of app listings and include new categories like Widgets and Live Wallpapers, as currently the catalog is filled pretty much with these kinds of software. Besides that, app pages will now have more info and links to related content.

Developer Steven Troughton-Smith found out that iOS applications can installed on the new Apple TV. You only need to slightly modify the applications to identify them as Apple TV-compatible. Of course, Steven’s discovery is an important step in developers’ quest to run applications on the device, but the applications are not yet usable, as the Apple TV doesn’t have any application launcher that would be required for an app to function.
