According to 9to5Mac, a Russian hacker has published a relatively simple method that allows users to obtain in-app purchases from many iOS apps for free.
The method, which doesn’t require a jailbreak, involves installation of two certificates on the user’s iOS device and changing DNS entry in wi-fi settings. Then users can perform purchases of in-app content as usual.
InteVyDis has released an untethered jailbreak for A4 devices on iOS 5.1.1 as part of Vulndisco Mobile 1.7. The module is vd_ios_untether_5_1_1. It works by creating a custom bundle you have to install via RedSn0w. Evgeny Legerov posted in twitter:

This jailbreak is not free and costs big money. It works only on A4 devices – iPhone 3GS, , iPad 1, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. It is not yet tested by other hackers. So this might be fake. However famous hacker I01nc notes that the company is a legit source of exploits:

Gevey has released a new hardware unlock for called Gevey Ultra SIM.
The main difference compared to the old Gevey unlock method is that you don’t have to dial 112. dialing 112/911 and hanging up is illegal in most countries, now this problem is gone.

Hacker I0nic has given his untether exploit for the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak to the iPhone Dev-Team. They will perform testing and integrate it into their jailbreak utilities – redsn0w and pwnagetool. This untethered jailbreak will probably work for iPhone 3GS, , iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad.
The iphone-dev-team is already beta-testing the untether. So it is up to them to give you your tool of choice.
Please don’t bother the dev-team now. The deal is: if the beta test is successfull, they are free to do whatever they want with it.
