The company from Cupertino will release the final version of its iOS 7.1 to the public no sooner than in March. Apart from the new mobile operating system, Apple is expected to unveil the next-generation Apple TV.

But let’s get back to iOS. According to the latest 9to5Mac report,

The iOS 7.1 update is said to not have any “secret features,” and it will basically be what we have been told to expect by the past five betas: some user-interface tweaks in the Phone app, an improved Calendar app, speed improvements, and numerous bug-fixes.

Apple hasn’t yet set the date of the release, but obviously it will do that a bit later.

However, it is still unknown whether it would be possible to jailbreak iOS 7.1. As iH8Sn0w says, the vulnerabilities used by evasi0n7 were fixed in the latest iOS 7.1 beta. Nevertheless, hackers still have some unused exploits, so let’s hope for the best.

Apple has released iOS 6.1.2 to fix a bug with Microsoft Exchange Calendar.

Fixes an Exchange calendar bug that could result in increased network activity and reduced battery life.

Today’s update also fixes the passcode bug that was found last week. There is no information, whether this firmware is jailbreakable.

You can update via OTA or in iTunes. Jailbreakers have to perform restore to upgrade to iOS 6.1.2.

Apple released new iPhone 3.1 and iPod Touch 3.1.1 firmwares. Here is a quick changelog:

- Fixes issue that cause some app icons to display incorrectly

iPhone OS 3.1 is available and is a free download for iPhone customers. iPod Touch users already running iPhone OS 3.0 can update to 3.1.1 for free. iPod Touch users running earlier firmware versions can upgrade to OS 3.1.1 for $4.95.

Users of jailbreaked and unlocked devices – do not update, wait for utilities updates!!

Wallpaper Labeler (AppStore link) and gCalWall Lite (AppStore link) let you add appointments and notes to the home screen. With Wallpaper Labeler, you can enter any text you want to your wallpaper, so you can leave yourself (or whoever finds your phone) notes. The other app, gCalWall, pulls down upcoming appointments from your default Google Calendar and splays them all over your home screen. You have to update it manually, which is kind of a drag, but the dev says that iPhone API won’t allow for automatic updating. Both apps are free

In the past you could only use Intelliscreen paid app on a jailbreaked iPhone.
