cydia 1 169x300 Cydia Update 1.1.14 released with bug fixes cydia 2 169x300 Cydia Update 1.1.14 released with bug fixes cydia 3 169x300 Cydia Update 1.1.14 released with bug fixes

Saurik has just released an update to Cydia that brings us one step closer to a stable jailbreak.

Cydia 1.1.14 no longer causes your device to lock up while booting on iOS 8 when you use a passcode. If you have installed unsupported modifications you may want to restore and jailbreak again, as those modifications are not supported.

Here’s what’s new:

Multitasking Support on iOS 8:
Cydia now backgrounds almost like a regular application (but only on iOS 8). This has been a major architectural change: please alert us to any issues.

This allows you to switch back/forth between Cydia and other applications (Such as Safari, or the Google two-factor authentication app) without losing your package selection state.

New Window and Hijack Blocking:
One of the biggest complaints about Cydia in the last year has been a new kind of ad seen on some repositories: a sudden redirect to the App Store.

Cydia now blocks “popups” and asks the user before opening the App Store.

Partial iPhone 6 Plus Support:
Cydia supports rotation on the iPhone 6 Plus and has a new @3x icon and tabbar. Cydia renders at the native resolution on both the 6 and 6 Plus.

Videos Work Again (on iOS 7.1-8.1):
Cydia on iOS 7.1 had an issue where playing video would cause the device to “lock up”. This bug has finally been fixed! The new iOS 8 video issue (a YouTube error message) is also fixed.

Localization Works Now on iOS 8:
Users of Cydia 1.1.13 (only available via a manual installation process) may have noticed Cydia only displayed in English :( . This has been fixed! Yay!

Queue Status is “Less Incorrect”:
Sometimes Cydia would not have packages queued but claim it did, or would have packages queued and claim it did not; this happens less ;P.

Saurik also notes that there are still some issues specific to iOS 8.

“When installing packages that put icons on SpringBoard, the icons may not appear. Rebooting might make them appear. This is because our ‘uicache’ tool, which refreshes icons, has not yet been updated for iOS 8. We are working on this, and a fix will come later as part of the UIKit Tools package as soon as we can manage.”

Hopefully now that the major passcode issue has been resolved, we may see a stable release of the Pangu jailbreak utility with Cydia.

semi restore 500x387 Semi Restore Lets You Wipe Your iPhone Without Losing Your Jailbreak

Semi-Restore is a new solution for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users who want to wipe their device clean without losing their jailbreak.

Created by CoolStar, the process will restore your device running iOS 5.0 through 6.1.2 to near stock condition. It’s performed using a simple one click app that is available to download for Mac, Windows, and Ubuntu.

What this does do
● Uninstalls all Cydia packages
● Fixes host file issues
● Erases all user data
● Fixes permissions
● Fixes activation issues
● Fixes iMessage/Facetime issues
● Fixes Safe mode issues randomly appearing
● Reinstalls Cydia (in case it was deleted)

What this does not do
● Upgrade your iOS Version
● Downgrade your iOS Version
● Jailbreak your iOS Device
● Fix broken System Files

Notes:
● SemiRestore supports Windows XP SP3 or higher, OS X 10.6 or higher, and Ubuntu 12.10 or higher (or the equivalent Linux).
● There may be a better way to fix your current problem. For example, to fix “Safe Mode” issues, you can just uninstall Mobile Substrate from Cydia.
● Like any other restore, make sure you backup your data if you want it later.
● Avoid using your iOS device or anything related to iTunes or XCode during the Semi-Restore. Why not actually go outside?
● This process can not and does not repair broken system files! Avoid all Siri Ports, as they are not only illegal (except for Spire on 5.0.1) but they also create problems and may potentially break system files (even Spire can cause this).
● Your device will respring or reboot several times during the Semi-Restore. This is perfectly normal, so don’t panic.

You can download Semi-Restore from official site here.

ios611 500x366 Apple Releases iOS 6.1.1 Beta to Developers

Apple has released iOS 6.1.1 beta to developers. It’s only been a week since Apple released iOS 6.1 to the public. And it’s just 48 hours after the iOS 6.x evasi0n jailbreak was released. Release notes indicate maps improvement and some other optimization. well, we understand that the main purpose of iOS 6.1.1 is probably to fix vulnerabilities used by envasi0n jailbreak.

MuscleNerd already commented via twitter:

6.1.1 beta is already out to developers! Obviously stay away from that.

Overview:
iOS 6.1.1 beta 1 includes the following improvements to Maps for Japan:
● Improved pronunciation of roads during turn-by-turn navigation
● Optimized directions to more strongly prefer highways over narrower roads
● Now indicates upcoming toll roads during turn-by-turn navigation
● Added labels for junctions, interchanges, on-ramps, off-ramps, and intersections
● Added indicators for transit station buildings, subway lines, and traffic lights
● Updated freeway color to green
● Updated icons for some location categories including fire stations, hospitals, and post offices
● Added 3D buildings including Tokyo Station, Japan Imperial Palace, and Tokyo Tower

Developers can download the update from the iOS Dev Center.

sn0wbreeze 297 500x396 Sn0wBreeze 2.9.7 released: iOS 6.0.1 support added

iH8Sn0w released Sn0wBreeze 2.9.7 that brings support for tethered jailbreak of iOS 6.0.1. New version supports iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G. It does not work with A5/A6 devices, like iPad 2, iPad 3, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, etc.

Sn0wbreeze can be used to create a custom firmware with jailbreak and preserve iPhone modem (baseband) version for unlock.

You can find the release notes below. You can download the latest version of Sn0wBreeze from here.

What is New?
● Added 6.0 (10A403)/6.0.1 (10A523) support. (Only includes iPhone 3GS & A4 devices).
● The 6.0/6.0.1 is currently a tethered based jailbreak via iBooty (except for iPhone 3GS old bootrom users).
● SAM is built-in for iOS 6 hacktivations. (Hacktivated phones can reboot to a semi-tethered state after being activated [rather than just hang at the Apple Logo]). Kudos @sbingner!

Downgrading:
● Use iFaith mode after selecting/downloading the appropriate IPSW for your device. You will then be prompted to browse for SHSH blobs for the IPSW you have selected.
● Remember to enter a PWNED DFU state with sn0wbreeze’s iREB button in the top bar of sn0wbreeze prior to (SHIFT + Restoring) the custom signed IPSW!

iREB & iOS 6:
Due to some changes in iOS 6, the current public standalone version of iREB will NOT enter a proper PWNED DFU state for restoring to custom iOS 6 IPSWs. An update for the standalone version should come sometime this week. In the meantime, use the iREB tab located in sn0wbreeze’s top status bar to enter a proper PWNED DFU state.

A5(X)/A6(X) Support?:
As stated many times in the past, sn0wbreeze cannot be updated to work on A5(X)/A6(X) devices until a low level exploit in DFU or iBoot is found and made public.

A5(X)/A6(X) Baseband Preservation/Hacktivation?
For those running A5(X)/A6(X) devices and need to preserve your baseband, there is nothing you can do at the moment. For those wanting to hacktivate, the only advice I can give is to buy the carrier’s SIM (the one its locked to obviously) on ebay. The SIM does not have to be active with the carrier to activate the phone.

Known Bugs/Issues:
● Windows 8 users currently need to use this workaround to run sn0wbreeze.
● iPad baseband will fail to flash on iOS 4.0 –> iOS 4.2.1 restores.
● iPod Touch 2G 4.x.x restores fail.

jail Paid iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak released for A4 Devices [Video]

InteVyDis has released an untethered jailbreak for A4 devices on iOS 5.1.1 as part of Vulndisco Mobile 1.7. The module is vd_ios_untether_5_1_1. It works by creating a custom bundle you have to install via RedSn0w. Evgeny Legerov posted in twitter:

vulndisco mobile 1.7 is out with untethered 5.1.1

This jailbreak is not free and costs big money. It works only on A4 devices -- iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. It is not yet tested by other hackers. So this might be fake. However famous hacker I01nc notes that the company is a legit source of exploits:

@legerov runs a company: Intevydis that sell exploit packs for many years. If that JB were fake he would hurt his own business.

The unfortunate thing is that now two sets of exploits may be revealed to Apple and some people may pay for the expensive exploit pack despite it being available free in a few days from pod2g.

MuscleNerd tweets:

the most troublesome part is that (potentially) close to 2x as many exploits will be burned now with 2 A4 JBs.

We recommend that you wait the extra day or two for a free jailbreak from pod2g that should work on all devices.

Here is a video demo of this jailbreak.

unlock1 266x400 New Unlock works for all iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, all 5.x firmwares, all basebands unlock1 266x400 New Unlock works for all iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, all 5.x firmwares, all basebands

A new unlock has been discovered that works for all iPhones and all 5.x firmware versions, all basebands are supported.

The method discovered by Loktar_Sun appears to exploit a logical bug in Apple’s server and can be performed on any jailbroken iOS device. His procedure involves using Sam Bingner’s SAM (Subscriber Artificial Module) package to perform a series of steps that unlocks your phone to use a specific SIM.

It has been confirmed working by iPhone Dev-Team member MuscleNerd who notes an update may be coming to SAM from @sbingner to make the procedure simpler.

We will post detailed step by step unlock instructions soon.

UPDATE: Tutorial is ready! You can find it here.
