As you probably know, a few days ago iH8sn0w, winocm and SquiffyPwn have released an untethered jailbreak for smartphones and tablets running iOS 6.1.3 – 6.1.5 – p0sixspwn. At first it was available only for Mac users, however, things have changed. Yes, you’ve got that right, p0sixspwn (version 1.0.4) for Windows is finally out.

At the same time, the new version of the jailbreak utility for Mac – 1.0.3 – is coming soon. If you have any problems with 1.0.2, it is recommended that you update to 1.0.3 since it is more stable.

Don’t forget to make a backup before jailbreaking your device and remember you hack your smartphone or tablet at your own risk.

One can download p0sixspwn for both Mac (version 1.0.2) and Windows (version 1.0.4) here.

As you probably know, not long ago evad3rs released their untethered jailbreak for iOS 7. Right after the release, many iPad 2 owners began to complain that their tablets won’t boot properly. Good news – the hackers came up with a fix for the problem; it is called Evasi0n 1.0.2 and it’s a beta that is said to be very helpful for all those who have problems with second-gen iPads (Wi-Fi models in particular).

Here’s what evad3rs claim:

News for the iPad 2 wifi on 7.0.4: we looked at it with @planetbeing. We know what is the issue now, we’re working on a clean fix.

1.0.2 (beta) is up on http://evasi0n.com. Fixes iPad 2 wifi boot loop.

As noted above, the fix is available on the evad3rs’ official website. It is still a beta-version, so it may happen it doesn’t work on all of the devices. Be patient and wait for the updates.

A Chinese company reportedly paid evad3rs $1 million to install its third-party mobile application – Taig store. This app replaced Cydia on devices with default language set to Chinese. As to the hackers, they confirmed that they had received a kind of compensation from Taig. Take a look at the open letter posted on evad3rs’ official website:

Yes, we have benefitted financially from our work, just as many others in the jailbreak community have, including tweak developers, repo owners, etc. Any jailbreak from us will always be free to the users but we believe we have a right to be compensated in an ethical way, just as any other developer.

Well, I don’t think it’s strange that the creators of untethered jailbreak for iOS 7 accepted such an advantageous offer. They need money to continue their work on jailbreak. If they had no money, we wouldn’t have jailbroken iPhones, iPads and iPods. It’s simple.

iH8sn0w and winocm have posted a new video teasing an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3, 6.1.4, and 6.1.5. The video demonstrates the untethered jailbreak on a n78ap (iPod touch 5) running iOS 6.1.3.

H8sn0w has announced the release of an untether package for the old devices running iOS 6.1.3 – 6.1.5. This includes iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod Touch 4G.

With the unexpected release of the evasi0n7 jailbreak, we are finally able to release the 3GS/A4 6.1.3 + 6.1.5 untether Cydia package.

To get the package you must have already performed a tethered jailbreak via redsn0w or sn0wbreeze. Simply open Cydia, refresh the packages from the Changes tab, and then search for “p0sixspwn”.

Sn0wbreeze will be updated at some point to incorporate the untether directly. The next priority is a jailbreak for all devices on iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4, including A5 devices (iPad 2/3/4, iPhone 4S/5, etc).

H8sn0w says no eta, however:

We expect it should be out by Christmas day. So if you don’t feel like upgrading to iOS 7 and prefer 6.1.3/6.1.4, sit tight for a bit. :)

Good news for all those who have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 7 – all of a sudden, evad3rs released an untethered jailbreak for the seventh version of Apple’s mobile operating system. Evasion 7 jailbreak utility was released December 22nd. A kind of a Christmas present from hackers, huh?

In a move that I think caught all of us way off-guard, the evad3rs have just released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 7. The team is calling the hack evasi0n7, and it’s compatible with all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini models running iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4.

What’s even better is that the iOS 6.1.x users, who previously successfully hacked their devices, can upgrade without losing jailbreak. So if you want to see something new on your iPhone, go ahead and try out jailbroken iOS 7. I’m almost sure you will like it.

Stefan Esser aka i0n1c, a security researcher and a person behind the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2, says someone close to evad3rs may have stolen a jailbreak exploit and sold it to an unknown private buyer.

As to the members of the evad3rs team, they deny such a theft. Moreover, they note that “the jailbreak stuff is moving on, but slowly.” That means that we won’t see it until 2014.

According to iClarified,

Even if the a jailbreak was stolen from the evad3rs and sold to a private buyer, it’s unlikely that the buyer would be looking to share it with Apple. However, if a jailbroken device is found in the wild, Apple could examine it to close the vulnerabilities for future firmware versions.

Let’s hope nobody has stolen the jailbreak exploit.

Great news. Evad3rs actually started iOS 7 jailbreak works.

Since Apple released iOS 7 Gold Master it is time for jailbreak developers to take a deep look at this new version, it is too late for Apple to make any changes to the iOS security.

The evad3rs, a group of hackers who released the untethered jailbreak for iOS 6, have announced that they are now actively investigating iOS 7 to identify which of their exploits still work.

Famous hacker Planetbeing recently tweeted:

Since everyone loves updates: @evad3rs have now started to actively look at iOS 7.

We are currently in a reconnaissance phase where we are identifying which exploits we have still work.

A hacker named winocm claims he has a binary that can perform an untethered jailbreak of the iOS 6.1.3. This announcement has been spotted on Twitter today.

I now have a binary that untethers 6.1.3. Needs some more work though.

A tethered jailbreak is now available for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4G running iOS 6.1.3. winocm says, he has tested the code only on his own iPhone 4. What is interesting, though, is that the hacker doesn’t work on the jailbreak for iOS 7.

I have my own code running inside the iOS 6.1.3 kernel on iPhone 4. It’s not useful on iOS 7. I don’t care about iOS 7. Other people are taking care of iOS 7.

If you have an iPhone and look forward to news from winocm concerning the new jailbreak, you may follow this person on Twitter.

Good new for all those who use an iPhone 4 CDMA with iOS 5.1 on board -- there’s an untethered jailbreak for this device. For more details -- read the rest of the article below and watch a video.

It is still unclear who has made it possible to jailbreak iPhone 4 CDMA as the team behind this stuff has no other name apart from the ‘UnthreadedJB’. It is rumored that this jailbreak uses the exploits released much earlier by the members of jailbreak community, however, whether this is true or not we don’t know.

There’s also one drawback about this jailbreak -- it is currently working on Linux only. But with time it is sure to reach other operating systems.
