It is still unclear who has made it possible to jailbreak iPhone 4 CDMA as the team behind this stuff has no other name apart from the ‘UnthreadedJB’. It is rumored that this jailbreak uses the exploits released much earlier by the members of jailbreak community, however, whether this is true or not we don’t know.

There’s also one drawback about this jailbreak -- it is currently working on Linux only. But with time it is sure to reach other operating systems.

semi restore 500x387 Semi Restore Lets You Wipe Your iPhone Without Losing Your Jailbreak

Semi-Restore is a new solution for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users who want to wipe their device clean without losing their jailbreak.

Created by CoolStar, the process will restore your device running iOS 5.0 through 6.1.2 to near stock condition. It’s performed using a simple one click app that is available to download for Mac, Windows, and Ubuntu.

What this does do
● Uninstalls all Cydia packages
● Fixes host file issues
● Erases all user data
● Fixes permissions
● Fixes activation issues
● Fixes iMessage/Facetime issues
● Fixes Safe mode issues randomly appearing
● Reinstalls Cydia (in case it was deleted)

What this does not do
● Upgrade your iOS Version
● Downgrade your iOS Version
● Jailbreak your iOS Device
● Fix broken System Files

Notes:
● SemiRestore supports Windows XP SP3 or higher, OS X 10.6 or higher, and Ubuntu 12.10 or higher (or the equivalent Linux).
● There may be a better way to fix your current problem. For example, to fix “Safe Mode” issues, you can just uninstall Mobile Substrate from Cydia.
● Like any other restore, make sure you backup your data if you want it later.
● Avoid using your iOS device or anything related to iTunes or XCode during the Semi-Restore. Why not actually go outside?
● This process can not and does not repair broken system files! Avoid all Siri Ports, as they are not only illegal (except for Spire on 5.0.1) but they also create problems and may potentially break system files (even Spire can cause this).
● Your device will respring or reboot several times during the Semi-Restore. This is perfectly normal, so don’t panic.

You can download Semi-Restore from official site here.

pwned Dream Team will work on untethered iPad 2 and iPhone 4S jailbreak

Pod2g has recently announced that Planetbeing, MuscleNerd, and P0sixninja have joined his effort to release an iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2.

@planetbeing, the legendary hacker behind iPhone Linux and lot of jailbreaks has joined the A5 research! The famous @MuscleNerd, the leader of the iPhone Dev Team, who did a lot of tests for Corona and whom integrated it and made it simple in redsn0w is willing to help also. And last, but not least @p0sixninja, the leader of the Chronic Dev Team, and my partner for years on iPhone security research has started to code and fuzz the Apple sandbox.

That means that we now have a dream team to create a public release of the A5 jailbreak.

Several day ago pod2g posted information why the A5 jailbreak had not been released yet. The key reason being that the exploit used for A4 devices (called limera1n) doesn’t work on A5 devices. The untethered iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak that we have seen on videos and photos was created relying on having a developer account.

We are sure that planetbeing, MuscleNerd, p0sixninja and pod2g is just a great team. Hopefully they will find necessary exploit and implement it fast, because Apple might release 5.0.2 or 5.1 and fix untathered.

greenpois0n rc5 486x400 GreenPois0n RC5 released: untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1

The Chronic Dev-Team has finally released the new version of Greenpois0n, which features a full untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1. No SHSH blobs needed. The exploit used has already been patched in iOS 4.3, so it not work on future iOS 4.3.

You can jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G, iPad and Apple TV 2G. Unlike redsn0w 0.9.6 this is untethered, so there is no need to connect iOS device to a computer after restart.

There is only Mac OS X version available. Chronic Dev-Team will release Windows and probably Linux version soon.

Unlockers: do not update to stock iOS 4.2.1. You should keep your baseband version. Wait for new version of PwnageTool.

You can download GreenPois0n RC5 from here.
