Redsnow is easy to use, it is available for Windows and Mac OS. Pwnagetool can be used to create custom ipsw and preserve baseband, it supports Mac OS only.
Ultrasn0w doesn’t work on iOS 4.3.1 yet (even with iOS 4.3.1 + old baseband). The fix will be available soon. Here’s a warning from DevTeam for unlockers:
Hacker I0nic has given his untether exploit for the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak to the iPhone Dev-Team. They will perform testing and integrate it into their jailbreak utilities – redsn0w and pwnagetool. This untethered jailbreak will probably work for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad.
The iphone-dev-team is already beta-testing the untether. So it is up to them to give you your tool of choice.
Please don’t bother the dev-team now. The deal is: if the beta test is successfull, they are free to do whatever they want with it.
Hackers have released Sn0wBreeze 2.4 beta 1 utility, which is able to jailbreak the latest iOS 4.3.1. This jailbreak is tethered for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS new bootrom, iPad, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G. Tethered means that every reboot you will have to connect device to a computer and boot it using special utility (iBooty). Sn0wBreeze 2.4 beta 1 provides untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS old bootrom.
Sn0wbreeze also preserves your baseband, which is very useful for unlockers. Using Sn0wbreeze you can update firmware iOS 4.3.1, while preserve old unlockable baseband. It also works with iPhone 3GS with 06.15 baseband.
It is still beta, so there might be bugs so use at your own risk.
You can download Sn0wBreeze 2.4 beta 1 for Windows here.
Comex, famous iPhone hacker, tweeted today that the kernel exploit for jailbreak he had found long ago was closed by Apple in recent iOS 4.3.1. This exploit could be used to jailbreak iPad 2.
As noticed by @0naj, my kernel exploit was fixed in 4.3.1.
I try not to be paranoid, but it is really hard to explain this as anything but a leak.
The funny thing is that my “new” kernel exploit is actually the kernel exploit used by JailbreakMe 2.0. It was never properly fixed.
It stayed there from 4.0.2 through 4.3, but was magically found in time for 4.3.1. well, go go @MuscleNerd and @i0n1c I guess
Apple seems really dislike everything that helps users to jailbreak their devices. This time Apple blocked access to the Cydiawebsite via Wi-Fi network in Apple retail stores. If you try accessing Cydia on a device connected to one of Apple’s Wi-Fi hotspots, you’ll be surprised to see Apple’s website load instead. As far as we remember, last year federal regulators said that it was no longer illegal to hack or jailbreak an iPhone. However, Apple doesn’t care about that and continues its “war” with jailbroken devices.
BGR have got their hands on the next iOS release – iOS 4.3.1. This new firmware will contain mostly minor bug fixes. Here are the changes from iOS 4.3:
Baseband updates for the 3GS and iPad (original)
Fixed memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM filesystem
Fixed problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites
Fixed issue with the Springboard and 3rd party apps not recognizing the gyroscope on the iPad 2
Hackers released Sn0wBreeze 2.3 beta 4 utility, which is able to jailbreak the latest iOS 4.3. This jailbreak is tethered for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS new bootrom, iPad, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G. Tethered means that every reboot you will have to connect device to a computer and boot it using special utility (iBooty). Sn0wBreeze 2.3 beta 4 provides untethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS old bootrom.
Sn0wbreeze also preserves your baseband, which is very useful for unlockers. Using Sn0wbreeze you can update firmware iOS 4.3, while preserve old unlockable baseband. It also works with iPhone 3GS with 06.15 baseband.

It seems that the recently released iPad 2 has been jailbroken. iOS hacker, known as Comex, posted on his Twitter account that the iPad 2 jailbreak is underway. The Jailbreak has yet to be packaged. Comex has yet to say when the jailbreak will made public, and how it works, but we now at least know the iPad 2 is able to be jailbroken. On the shot above you may see the proof – the jailbroken white iPad 2 3G with Cydia ready to launch.
Apple will soon disable restoring to iOS 4.2.1 for iPad and iPhone. In order to preserve jailbreak and unlock save your SHSH keys now! 4.3b keys might also help you in future untethered jailbreak.
You can do that using TinyUmbrella utility. Download it for Mac or Windows here. Just run it and push “Save ALL SHSHs” button.
The other way is to save SHSHs via Cydia. Run Cydia and make sure the keys are saved (green line on the top).
