Redmondpie have completed the HTC Hero theme for iPhone. They have done a really good job because it looks good:

It works on jailbreaked iPhones via Winterboard. Here is a link to step-by-step installation instructions. I guess this theme will appear in Cydia quite soon, so installation would be much easier.

Here is a video that shows this HTC Hero theme on iPhone:

This video tutorial describes how to jailbreak iPhone 3GS using purplera1n.

Here’s an extremely easy way to enable tethering on your iPhone 3G and 3GS (even on AT&T!) by just visiting a site on your iPhone’s Safari. No jailbreaking needed. Here’s where you go:

http://help.benm.at/help.php

Then scroll down to the Tethering & Internet Settings, then choosing your country and provider. This works for both AT&T and T-Mobile, and will let you install the appropriate configuration. Just be careful though, that AT&T doesn’t officially sponsor this and might charge you extra for using tethering while you’re not supposed to.

And if this disables visual voicemail on your phone, just go and reset your network settings, and it should be fixed. If that doesn’t work, try updating your phone with an older version of the AT&T carrier settings.

ants1 266x400 Ants are back [Cydia]

Once again we have the ability to have ants running on our iPhone. This little toy was available on firmware 1.1.x. Now the developer has update the code to support firmware 2.x. If you don’t remember ants take a look at the video below. This toy is easy to use. As you might remember you open the app and activate the ants. Then open your notes and watch the ants fill the screen. You can smash them or shake your iPhone to remove them. Ants is available in Cydia for jailbreaked iPhones.

You can watch the video of this app here and here.

Here’s a new video from Raif Ackermann. Raif managed to communicate the iPhone with the Apple Wireless keyboard.

He used jailbreaking and a special software that he wrote by himself.

isutra1 iSutra updated to version 1.1 [Cydia]

iSutra, this nice application. Thanks to jailbreaking and Cydia we can run and use. It updated to vesrion 1.1. Just in time for Valentines Day. Several bugs fixed. It is also translated into Russiand and Portugese. If you’re not familiar, watch the video here.

xgps 300x200 xGPS: Turn By Turn Voice Navigation for iPhone [Cydia]

xGPS uses Google’s map data and driving directions, adding a real-time navigation readout and a voice engine. You can also select a map area to download ahead of time, just in case you expect to lose your data connection during the drive. There is also a night mode for those who hate bright white screen shining at night.

xGPS without vocalization in already available in Cydia for jailbreaked iPhones. The new version 1.2 will be ready in a week or so.

Sounds like one more reason to jailbreak. Watch the video, how this nice app works:

Here is an anouncement from DevTeam. They suggest to not update to the new firmware 2.2.1 yet. You can loose the ability to jailbreak and unlock. Just wait for them to check everything and release new software.
