My personal top 30 Cydia tweaks of 2011. The tweaks chosen are both new and old, popular and unpopular. 30 is a big number so, I hope that most of you are able to find a tweak that you will enjoy having on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. The Smart Sign is the iPad in front of each Apple product. It explains and provides specifications for the product. Customers are not able to actually use this iPad for anything but the Smart Sign application However with the right top-secret gesture anything is possible. One user figured out the secret gesture, went to the home screen, launched up Safari, and jailbroke the Smart Sign with the new JailbreakMe 3.0 tool. Here is the video:

Gevey has released a new hardware unlock for iPhone 4 called Gevey Ultra SIM.

The main difference compared to the old Gevey unlock method is that you don’t have to dial 112. dialing 112/911 and hanging up is illegal in most countries, now this problem is gone.

Gevey Ultra works with

• iOS 4.0, 4.1, 4.2.1, 4.3, 4.3.1, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
• Basebands 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1, 4.10, 4.10.1

Some sources claim that Gevey Ultra works even with the latest iOS 5 beta 1.

If you have 01.59 baseband you can still use free software ultrasn0w unlock. For everything else -- just buy Gevey Ultra for $35 here.

The installation is simple, but requires jailbreak. Good luck iOS 4.3.3 is jailbreakable. See our jailbreak instructions here (Mac OS) and here (Windows).

Apple has released iOS 4.3.2 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

This update contains improvements and other bug fixes including:

• Fixes an issue that occasionally caused blank or frozen video during a FaceTime call
• Fixes an issue that prvented some international users from connecting to 3G networks on iPad W-Fi + 3G
• Contains the latest security updates

Products compatible with this software update:

• iPhone 4 (GSM model)
• iPhone 3GS
• iPad 2
• iPad
• iPod touch (4th generation)
• iPod touch (3rd generation)

Apple has also updated the firmware for the Verizon iPhone to 4.2.7 although this wasn’t listed in the release notes.

Current jailbreak tools work with iOS 4.3.2 in tethered mode only. Please save your SHSH keys for iOS 4.3.1 asap.

Hacker I0nic has given his untether exploit for the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak to the iPhone Dev-Team. They will perform testing and integrate it into their jailbreak utilities – redsn0w and pwnagetool. This untethered jailbreak will probably work for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G, iPod Touch 4G and iPad.

The iphone-dev-team is already beta-testing the untether. So it is up to them to give you your tool of choice.

Please don’t bother the dev-team now. The deal is: if the beta test is successfull, they are free to do whatever they want with it.

I0nic recently demonstrated his jailbreak on iPod Touch 4G. I hope to get iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak soon.

Comex, famous iPhone hacker, tweeted today that the kernel exploit for jailbreak he had found long ago was closed by Apple in recent iOS 4.3.1. This exploit could be used to jailbreak iPad 2.

As noticed by @0naj, my kernel exploit was fixed in 4.3.1.

I try not to be paranoid, but it is really hard to explain this as anything but a leak.

The funny thing is that my “new” kernel exploit is actually the kernel exploit used by JailbreakMe 2.0. It was never properly fixed.

It stayed there from 4.0.2 through 4.3, but was magically found in time for 4.3.1. well, go go @MuscleNerd and @i0n1c I guess

This is not good news. However we have recently seen working untethered jailbreak video. There are other vulnerabilities in iOS 4.3.1.
