sn0wbreeze25 500x393 Sn0wBreeze 2.5 released: untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1

ih8sn0w released Sn0wBreeze 2.5 – utility to untether jailbreak iOS 4.3 for Windows. It uses the same method as Redsn0w 0.9.6 rc9 and Pwnagetool 4.3.

Sn0wbreeze also preserves your baseband, which is very useful for unlockers. That is why it is so-called Pwnagetool for Windows. With Sn0wbreeze you can update to firmware iOS 4.3.1, while preserve old unlockable baseband. It also works with iPhone 3GS with 06.15 baseband.

Sn0wBreeze 2.5 does not support iPhone 4 Verizon and iPad 2.

You can download Sn0wBreeze 2.5 for Windows here.

ios for ipad

It seams that hackers have had their hands on the iOS 4.2 beta 3 for iPad. But, as we know, there is no official jailbreak for it. Recently the well-known iOS hacker posted aт interesting picture in Tweeter. The shot depicts an iPad running MobileTerminal, a jailbreak application, which gives users full access to the terminal command line interface. But it looks strange, because it means that the hackers missed the beta 4, which should be released this past Tuesday, according to the Apple’s schedule. This could signal that Apple may skip beta 4 altogether and go straight to a GM build sometime next week.

Here’s what hackers tweeted about new Apple firmwares 4.0.1 for iPhones and 3.1.2 for iPad:

DevTeam:

devteam Heres what hackers say about new firmware iOS 4.0.1

As with *any* new FW, jailbreakers + unlockers must avoid this upcoming 4.1 update until our tools are updated

3GS, ipt3G, iPhone4 users (regardless of current FW or JB status) should backup 4..0 SHSH blobs http://is.gd/dskh9 soon

MuscleNerd:

musclenerd Heres what hackers say about new firmware iOS 4.0.1

Obviously avoid today’s 4.0.1 update until JB tools are updated. Luckily, no baseband change so ultrasn0w lives on :)

each FW version has unique blobs. But using http://is.gd/dskh9 you can get 4.0 blobs on PC while you stay at 3.1.2

Hah for those iPhone3G or ipt2g(non-MC) users at 4.1beta1: use redsn0w from 2 wks ago to JB http://is.gd/dstU3 :)

3.2.1 and 4.0.1 out. if you want an unlock, DO NOT UPDATE. No, the jailbreak is not ready yet.

by the way, there is absolutely no reason to update to 4.0.1. it only improves the formula for _displaying bars_, not actual signal

Planetbeing:

planetbeing Heres what hackers say about new firmware iOS 4.0.1
There’s no baseband update, so signal strength or radio performance cannot have improved.

Hey guys, I recommend any iPhone 4 users who need jailbreak or unlock use http://3.ly/zN58 to back up their SHSHs NOW, and not upgrade.

iH8sn0w:

ih8sn0w Heres what hackers say about new firmware iOS 4.0.1

WARNING: 3.2.1 for the iPad is out. It KiLLS the Spirit Exploit. 4.0.1 is out too (not for the iPad though)

iH8Sn0w has successfully performed a tethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS with new firmware  iOS 4 and the new bootrom. Unfortunately this jailbreak requires users to have 3.1.2 SHSH blobs saved.

Alright… If anyone has their 3.1.2 SHSH blobs, NOT 3.1.3. Then I’ll see if I can produce a tool that will do this job…

Here is a video demo posted by AKinGdom1:

The utility will be available soon. Might be as soon as tomorrow.

A few hours ago iH8sn0w posted a tweet that he is able to run jailbreak on the new firmware 4.0 beta 1. DarkMalloc, another developer who worked on the project, has just released new video that shows firmware 4.0 jailbreak on iPhone 3G:

The interesting thing, besides the presence of Cydia and MobileTerminal, is the possibility to have multiple applications open at once. That means that multitasking on iPhone 3G can be enabled. Officially Apple doesn’t want to activate this functionality on iPhone 3G, just iPhone 3GS and later devices.

iTunes crashed

Yesterday iTunes update was found to have issues with those of iPod Touches and iPhones that were tethered jailbroken with blackRa1n. If you have one of these, you will be unable to rejailbreak your device after rebooting it with blackra1n. The problem is being experienced only by Windows users. iH8Sn0w has an explanation:

“Blackra1n hooks to the dll that has different offsets of what it is actually looking for”.

To solve the problem iH8Sn0w released a blackra1n fix for a new version of iTunes. It’s named BlackBreeze and it supports 32bit + 64bit Windows versions and can be downloaded here.  Please note that this fix is not an official update from Geohot. You can also try to replace new iTunes dll-files with the old ones or install  iTunes 9.0.3. The latter is available here (don’t forget to uninstall the current version and reboot before the installing of another one).

Redsn0w reportedly works fine with the new iTunes 9.1. MuscleNerd twitted:

BlackRa1n fix For iTunes 9.1 Is Released

sn0wbreeze Sn0wbreeze 1.5.2: new version of jailbreak utility for Windows

iH8sn0w has just released a new version of Sn0wbreeze, the Windows tool that allows you to jailbreak Firmware 3.1.3. This is a small update that fixes a problem that occurs only on 64bit operating system.

You can download the new sn0wbreeze 1.5.2 here.

We still recommend to use DevTeam utilities – RedSn0w (Windows and MAC OS) and PwnageTool (MAC OS only).

f0recast1 f0recast released: find out if your iPhone is jailbreakable and unlockable

As expected iH8sn0w released f0recast, the application that allows us to know a lot of useful information about all we can do with our iPhone.

Just connect the iPhone with the cable to see what is version of the baseband or iBoot. The utility will also give valuable information if we can perform a jailbreak (tethered or untethered). It will also tell if the Phone is unlockable and will give a suggestion what unlock software can be used.

You can download it directly from here. Unfortunately there is no Mac version for now.

MuscleNerd just posted interesting comment on Twitter, saying that the application is inaccurate regarding to the iPhone 3GS. There might be a new update soon. For all other devices the application works just fine.

f0recast musclenerd f0recast released: find out if your iPhone is jailbreakable and unlockable

iH8sn0w, through a new tweet, informs that his new utility f0recast will be released tonight.

f0recast 300x269 f0recast utility will determine if your iPhone is jailbreakable f0recast 2 300x269 f0recast utility will determine if your iPhone is jailbreakable

There are many different iPhone and iPod Touch models and firmware versions for them. Each device has it’s own bootrom, bootloader, iBoot and baseband versions that determine if user can perform jailbreak and unlock. So it is quite complicated for users to answer a simple question: “Is my device jailbreakable?”. f0recast will solve this problem.

f0recast is a small Windows application that will able to give a straight answer if the iPhone or iPod touch is able to be jailbroken. Just connect your iPhone, launch the app and push a button.

f0recast is only an informational tool which determines if your device can or cannot be jailbreaked. It will NOT jailbreak your device.

It looks like Apple has started banning iPhone hackers from the iTunes App Store.

A few day ago Sherif Hashim, the iPhone developer and hacker, tweeted that he had found an exploit in the latest iPhone OS 3.1.3, which could enable the unlock on 05.12.01 baseband for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. Yesterday he has been banned by Apple for the so called “security reasons”. It seems that Apple is quite angry! Here is what Sherif gets when he tries to access App Store from his iPhone:

AppStoreBan 265x400 Apple Bans Hackers from iTunes App Store

Sherif Hashim’s Tweets:

“Your Apple ID was banned for security reasons”, that’s what i get when i try to go to the app store, they must be really angry :) ))))

and guess what my apple ID was, “sherif_hashim@yahoo.com”, what a fool was me not to notice :) )), can’t help laughing, they are babies :) ))

Another iPhone hacker named iH8sn0w, the developer of Sn0wbreeze (PwnageTool alternative for Windows), tweeted saying he was also banned by Apple right after he released an exploit known as XEMN:

@sherif_hashim lol, they did that to my ih8sn0wyday[@t]googmail.com too. (right after I posted XEMN)…

For now Apple isn’t banning Jailbreakers – they’re banning people who actively work to find exploits in the iPhone software to create Jailbreaks for the rest of us.
